Hulu is Developing a Popular Game TV Show from the Creators of Alien: Earth and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

The newest Far Cry instalment that gamers explored was Far Cry 6, that starred Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the bad guy, Antón, and debuted during October 6, 2021. In the game universe, it is known for embracing action and madness with the same glee, all while weaving engaging, ideologically themed stories. Little surprise that the network’s decision for a Far Cry limited-run show pulled in two producers whose work have exemplified all of those elements.

About the Series

Inspired by Ubisoft's popular video game franchise, the self-contained anthology series will stream on Hulu and will be created by FX Productions. The series will also follow the video games' style by featuring a new location and cast of characters in subsequent series.

Creative Minds

Rob Mac, mastermind of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the mind behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will act as lead producers on the series under their production banners, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be joined by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

We’ve shared outstanding collaborations with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a combined six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are overjoyed that they are joining forces for Far Cry,” said Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a announcement. “I have no doubt that they will deliver this story in a way that is fresh, compelling, and wildly entertaining. We also want to acknowledge our partners at Ubisoft for trusting us with this beloved property.”

Upcoming Developments

Mac will also appear in the show, but currently, we are unsure of what part that may be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was recently approved for more episodes, with FX and Disney finalizing a new overall deal with the creator.

“Being able to collaborate together with Noah Hawley is a fantasy come true,” stated Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been exceptionally supportive, placing faith in us with one of the most iconic video-game worlds ever created. And throughout this process, my FX partners constantly supports me with their constant trust and backing.”

“What I love about the Far Cry game franchise is that it’s an anthology-style program. Every instalment is a take of a idea, the same way each season of Fargo is a variation on a premise,” said Hawley. “To produce a big action show that can shift from season to season, while always delving into the essence of people through this intricate and chaotic perspective, is a dream come true. I’m excited to collaborate with Rob and present our shared irreverent, ambitious sensibility to the audience.”

A release window for when we can expect the new Far Cry show has not been announced. The series will stream on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus in other regions.
