Overnight, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused power cuts in extensive areas of the capital city, Kyiv.

Nine people were injured while inhabitants in the city's east were experienced blackouts and dealt with problems to water supplies, according to city officials.

At the same time, a minor was fatally injured in a distinct assault in the southeastern region in the southern area, based on information from regional authorities.

Moscow has increased strikes on energy facilities over the past few days, while the country's government has called for "substantial measures" from allies to increase pressure on Russia.

"The necessity is not superficial actions but decisive action - from the America, Europe and the G7 - in delivering protection systems and applying restrictions," mentioned in a social media post.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and over thirty rockets attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, labeling such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as winter approaches.

Energy officials said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and repair crews were striving to restore power.

A wave of strikes hit electrical systems and civilian homes in the capital.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the strikes on the city have been transported for medical care, per statements from city authorities.

Area administrators said the city came under significant strikes during nighttime hours. A young boy died and several individuals were wounded.

The strikes come after periods of air raids in the area, parts of which remain under the control of invading troops.

The entire country is on alert for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are harder to spot.

Government officials told the media that Moscow was purposely seeking to damage the electrical infrastructure, with attacks already disrupting gas facilities.

He said energy workers and officials were bracing for further attacks.
